This week at Fox Hill School was a wonderful example of how preschool learning is woven across subjects—from literacy and art to sensory play, health education, and music. By exploring Antarctica together, our students expanded their understanding of the world while building essential skills that will support their growth now and in the years ahead.

As we wrapped up our final week before Winter Break here at The Fox Hill School, our classrooms were full of excitement, creativity, and lots of holiday cheer. It was a fun week of learning and playing as we explored Hanukkah and Christmas together through stories, art, building, and play.

This week at Fox Hill School, we read some Thanksgiving and turkey books, to prepare us for the upcoming holiday! The children enjoyed hearing about family celebrations and special meals. We also talked about gratitude and what we are thankful for!

This week at Fox Hill School, we dove into We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger. The story follows a group of children who discover different kinds of leaves—and that each leaf belongs to a specific tree with its own fall color. This book is perfect for building early science skills. Preschoolers learn to observe, compare, classify, and make real-world connections—key components of early literacy and cognitive development.
